World Builder Studios

Web3 Product Design, Design Mentorship, Developer Tooling
Project Brief

Game7 acquired Worldbuilder Studios to build our L3 blockchain infrastructure. The dev team could engineer chain explorers, token swaps, bridges, staking widgets, and developer toolkits—but the interfaces looked like placeholder UIs. Provided design support across the entire product suite while mentoring a junior designer. The goal: make developer tools that felt professional and cohesive across Game7's ecosystem, not fragmented afterthoughts.

Duration

12 Months

Stack

Figma, Ethereum, Polygon, Web3.js, Etherscan API, React, TypeScript

Services

Product Design, Design Mentorship, Web3 Developer Tools, Design Systems

Project Overview

Worldbuilder Studios joined Game7 as our acquired dev shop focused on building Layer 3 infrastructure and Web3 developer tools. The team had strong technical capabilities but needed design support to deliver production-quality interfaces that matched Game7's ecosystem standards. Provided targeted design leadership across their entire product suite—chain explorers, token swaps, bridges, staking widgets, Dev Hub documentation, and developer toolkits.

The role balanced hands-on product design with design mentorship. Worked 1:1 with a Junior UI Designer to elevate their craft while receiving mentorship from Game7's senior design team. This collaborative structure ensured design quality across developer-facing products while building Worldbuilder's internal design capabilities. The goal: create visual cohesion across Game7's L3 infrastructure while enabling the team to eventually own their design function.

My Approach

Designed interfaces for technical users who value speed and functionality. Built chain explorers with clear transaction hierarchies, token swap interfaces optimized for minimal clicks, cross-chain bridges that explained complex mechanics visually, and staking widgets that made DeFi approachable.

Created the Dev Hub documentation site with information architecture that made technical content discoverable through intuitive navigation and search.

Worked 1:1 with a junior UI designer, teaching Web3 product design patterns while learning from Game7's senior team. This mentorship loop elevated the junior designer from task execution to strategic thinking. Built a unified design system across all products—shared components, consistent patterns, cohesive visual language—so chain explorers, bridges, widgets, and Dev Hub felt like one professional L3 infrastructure rather than disconnected tools.
