DesignOps AI - Figma Plugin
AI Design Transformation, Figma Plugins, Design Operations
Project Overview
(COMING SOON) Design systems break down when documentation falls behind implementation. Designers build components in Figma, engineers rebuild them in code, documentation lives in outdated Notion pages, and auditing new work against system standards is manual tedium. The Figma AI Suite solves this with three plugins that automate documentation, auditing, and component generation using your existing design system as the source of truth.

Currently building three Figma plugins that transform how design teams maintain design systems using AI. The suite addresses the biggest pain points in design ops: outdated documentation, inconsistent component usage, and the gap between design and engineering handoff. Instead of manually documenting every component, auditing designs against standards, or rebuilding components from scratch, designers can automate all three using AI that understands their existing design system.
Plugin 1 - AI Design System Documentation: Connects Figma design systems to Cursor via MCP server, ingests components into an LLM, and auto-generates documentation and usages and exports it to Storybook. Design systems stay current automatically as components evolve, eliminating the documentation debt that kills most systems.
Plugin 2 - AI Design Audit: Analyzes new components or pages against your existing design system, generates detailed audit reports highlighting inconsistencies, and optionally fixes errors automatically before pushing back to Figma. Makes design QA instant instead of time-consuming manual reviews.
Plugin 3 - AI Design with Design System: Uses your existing design system or wireframes to generate three component variations for A/B/C testing. Select the winner and it's automatically added to your design documentation with system-compliant specs. Speeds up exploration while maintaining standards.
Solving Real Design Ops Problems: Built these plugins from personal frustration with design system maintenance at scale. At Game7, keeping documentation current across 10+ products was impossible manually. These tools automate what design ops teams spend hours doing—documenting components, auditing consistency, and generating system-compliant variations.
AI That Understands Your System: The suite doesn't use generic AI—it learns your specific design system through MCP server integration. This means audit feedback and generated components match your actual standards, tokens, and patterns, not generic design advice. The AI becomes an extension of your design ops function.
Figma-Native Workflow: Built as Figma plugins to eliminate context switching. Designers stay in their primary tool while AI handles documentation generation, audit reports, and component variations. The workflow fits existing design processes rather than requiring adoption of new tools.
Documentation That Stays Current: Traditional design documentation requires manual updates every time a component changes, and hours of meetings with engineers. The AI Documentation plugin auto-syncs with Figma, regenerating Storybook docs as the system evolves. Documentation becomes a living artifact, not a static snapshot that expires.
